“...the chief value of art lies in the expression it gives to the artist...” from the novel LUST FOR LIFE by Irving Stone.
Defining art is difficult, if not impossible and its interpretation is, at best, subjective. After all, isn’t everyone an “artist”? There are performing artists, recording artists, graphic artists, tattoo artists, graffiti artists. There are even con artists. For me, the quote from Irving Stone’s novel says it best. So instead of trying to define the term “art” I think it’s better to try to appreciate the expression and the joy that each “artist” conveys in their work. Please take the time to view my paintings and sculpture. The purpose in showing you my work is to pass on the expression it has given me. I hope that you will share in the pleasure that I derived from its creation.
