I have always loved to draw and early on showed an uncommon aptitude.  This interest was further developed during my K-12 education.  I attended and majored in art at Northern Illinois University and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado. However, it wasn’t until I enrolled at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and studied with Bill Parks, that I began to cultivate my ability in drawing and painting.  Since that time, I have taken workshops and classes with Richard Schmid, Burt Silverman, Mark Daily, Kim English, Tom Browning and Quang Ho. My background in sculpture has been largely self-taught but have benefited by studies with Andi Mascaneras and Richard MacDonald.

My career began as an advertising artist with the Chicago Tribune.  A short vacation to Colorado convinced me to pack whatever would fit in my VW and move west.  After settling in Denver, I began a career in illustration and  graphic arts that would last over thirty years.  I’ve had the good fortune to have my work appear in newspapers, national magazines, published books, on television and in motion pictures.  I’ve also been lucky enough to have some of my paintings and sculpture receive local and national awards.  My work appears in galleries but I sometimes prefer to show in certain art markets where I can meet and converse with people in a relaxed atmosphere.  Two such venues are the Art Students League of Denver’s Summer Art Market and Loveland’s Sculpture in the Park Exhibition.
